Church History
In His Way Ministry was established in 2017 by our Pastor Angela Segres-King. In 2011 Pastor King’s father in ministry stated that, “he wasn’t sure if she would start a church or be called to a church, but he knew she had a pastoral call on her life. After several years of prayer and preparation, she was now ready to serve God’s people as Pastor.
In 2017 the Lord woke Pastor up from a dream and said “start a church and call it IN THE WAY MINISTRY” …. She grabbed her bible and was led to John 14: 6 “Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man come unto the Father, but by me.” Thus, comes the naming and birthing of IN HIS WAY MINISTRY!
Pastor and her husband stepped out on faith and started In His Way Ministry with two families, about six people in total. Pastor King was ordained by her father in Ministry Rev. Alvin B. Harmon (First Baptist Church Enfield, NC), and officially installed as Pastor and Founder of IN HIS WAY MINISTRY by Apostle Alvin and Pastor Nancy McDaniel (House of Resurrection Whitakers, NC) on August 26, 2017.
In His Way Ministry held their first service in a borrowed church once a month in the town of Nashville, NC, and weekly bible study in Rocky Mount.
In 2017-2018, Pastor King spent New Year in Germany and attended a New Year’s Service. It was during that watch night service in Germany, she was given a prophetic word, “that when she got back home to start packing God had given her a building!” She believed God!
January of 2018, upon returning to the United States, she began to preach and prepare the congregation out of the book of Joshua 1:6 "... now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them..."
August 1, 2018 In His Way Ministry received the keys and held their first service on August 5, 2018 in the building they now call home every Sunday.
Much prayer, fasting and physical labor continues to make the ministry what it is today. Since the birthing of the ministry:
Souls are being saved and baptized
Community events are held (annual community day, services on the lawn, movies on the lawn, etc.)
Ministries are being established to meet the growing needs of the congregation and community:
In His Way Ministry is a community-involved church that partners with local schools, businesses, and other organizations to reach the lost, encourage the saints, and ultimately bring glory to God!
In His Way Ministry continues to be led by the Holy Spirit and strives to share the words of Jesus saying, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man come unto the Father, but by me.”
